Hood to Coast

One of the runners in LGRAW is organizing 2 teams for next years (2009) Hood to Coast Relay.  The relay takes place in Oregon the last weekend before Labor Day.  It starts on Mount Hood, continues through Portland, and ends at the Pacific Coast in the town of Seaside, OR after about 192 miles.  I've run this 3 times and it is great.

The race only takes 1,000 teams (12,000 runners) so it fills up pretty quick.

If you are interested, contact Jeff Barnhart (JeffB@runnersandwalkers.com).  Tell him that Bob Newman sent you.

By the way, Jeff is a HTC fanatic.  He has run the race at least 14 times so he knows all the ins and outs.  He is a master of logistics (air travel, hotels, vans, food, leg assignment, where and when to sleep, etc.).  If you can hook up with him you have it made.

I found this short clip that gives you a good idea of what Hood to Coast might be like:

And they are working on a HTC documentary to be released in '09.

Looks like FUN!

Hi Bob, Thanks for this info.  Another running challenge for us to consider.
